Not at all, actually.

Andrew Robinson is a singer/songwriter and one man band (loop artist) from Rockford, Illinois and performs primarily around Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin and performs a mixture of other people's music and songs he has written.

It's important to note that NOTHING is prerecorded at his shows and everything you hear is performed live and in person.

Being a "loop artist" means that Andrew incorporates a loop pedal in his live performances. A loop pedal allows him to play and record a musical phrase to play back in a "loop." Within that loop, he can record and layer an unlimited amount of additional musical phrases for added texture and depth (which typically include different guitar parts, vocal percussion, vocal harmonies, bass lines, etc). Depending on the song, he also incorporates different effects pedals and all of those elements help create a sonic landscape for many of the songs he performs, which can make it sound more like a band is playing than a single person with an acoustic guitar.

​Andrew's musical tastes span many genres, but he gravitates towards soulful rock, pop, and R&B, while incorporating folky textures and taking creative freedoms with popular songs to make them different, yet familiar. He will have played 1,000 shows since he started this musical journey at the end of May 2026.
